An Introduction to Zero Balancing

Zero Balancing

Zero Balancing is a bone-based bodywork modality that enhances one's life and well-being by treating the whole person. Created by Fritz Smith, MD, (also a Doctor of osteopathy and a 5-Element acupuncturist), Zero Balancing is at the leading edge of current body/mind therapies and could be described as "acupressure to the bones."

Zero Balancing blends the Western medical concept of body structure and anatomy with the Eastern understanding of energy and healing. A Zero Balancer works simultaneously with the structure and energy of the bones to help the nervous system return to overall balance. The session is received fully clothed while lying comfortably on a massage table. During a ZB session your full body is attended to via your skeletal system, i.e., via gentle pressure to your bones. A Zero Balancer uses pressure that "feels good" or “hurts good”- not too much and not too light either. It is definitely not an "adjustment."

At the end of a session clients tend to feel calm, "worked on," and more at ease with emotional and physical challenges. Other benefits include a quiet mind, less pain, reduced anxiety, and more joy!

Zero Balancing can be a nervous system "detox" for those who want to seriously relax from stress in their life and begin to change the way their body responds to stress.

Zero Balancing is a holistic therapy that empowers the recipient to manifest wellness. Nearly everyone can benefit from it. It’s ideal for addressing a wide range of conditions as well as promoting and enhancing already existing wellness. Kate’s practice uses Zero Balancing to help clients manage anxiety, digestive and reproductive challenges. The process is designed to be complementary with other healthcare, including primary care.

By optimizing the body, mind and spirit, ZB fosters and enhances wellness. Zero Balancing is the full body massage you didn’t know you’ve been waiting for.
